Daphne Greengrass (born 1979/1980) was a pure-blood witch who belonged to the Greengrass family, an old wizarding family, and one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight. In 1991, she enrolled at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was assigned to the Slytherin House. She was born in the same year as Harry Potter, the wizarding world’s most renowned child.
Daphne Greengrass Biography
Infancy:
Daphne Greengrass was born in 1979 or 1980 to both pureblood wizards. She did have a sibling, a two-year-younger sister named Astoria.
It’s unclear whether the Greengrass sisters were raised with pure-blood supremacy goals in mind. Their Sacred Twenty-Eight family was one of Britain’s oldest and “truest” pure-blood families. A blood malediction was placed on one of the sisters’ distant ancestors, manifesting itself in Astoria Greengrass. Daphne may or may not have had the same illness as her younger sister.
Years spent at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (1991-1998)
Daphne started her studies at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on September 1, 1991, and was assigned to the Slytherin house.
Whether she was a member of Pansy Parkinson’s “gang” of Slytherin females throughout her school years is unknown.
Hermione Granger and she both took their O.W.L. exams in 1996.
Daphne was not one of the selected students who advanced to N.E.W.T.-level Potions the following school year, indicating that she either did not obtain the required grade or did not see the benefit of carrying on to N.E.W.T. Potions.
It’s unclear whether she was present at the Battle of Hogwarts on May 2, 1998, or if she and her fellow Slytherins were led from the Great Hall by Filch beforehand.
Daphne Greengrass’s Mysterious Affair:
Even though Daphne Greengrass was only called once in canon, it was enough to generate thousands of fanfics and, in the end, establish a distinct fanon character: the aloof and calculating Ice Queen of Slytherin.

1. R-Contractual dude’s Invalidation
The typical cliché of Harry uncovering a marriage contract with Daphne Greengrass kicks off Contractual Invalidation, but trust me when I say this fix puts its spin on things. To begin with, the characters are both adults, which is unusual. Instead of being caricatures of “Gryffindor Golden Boy” and “Slytherin Ice Queen,” the characters feel real, with Harry doing some plotting of his own. I especially enjoyed the cultural clash when Harry tries to persuade pureblooded Daphne that muggles aren’t so different after wholly but all misunderstands her point of view.
2. Petrificus Somewhatus’ Daphne Greengrass and the Reputation of Intending to
Daphne Greengrass and the Importance of Intent is an essential Haphne romance set during the Hogwarts age. Daphne is your calculating Slytherin, Tracey is her ever-present buddy, Harry asks for her assistance, and the two come up with a plan.
3. Serious Scribble unadorned:
Unadorned is a beautifully written different approximately Aurora Harry Potter, who meets the Greengrass family while investigating a murder. It’s a dark and terrible narrative that’s a long cry from the usual Harry/Daphne material, so be warned.
4. Jeconais’ Perfect Situations and Matryoshka Vignettes
Without Jeconais’ Perfect Situations and its sequel Matryoshka Vignettes, no list of Haphne fics would be complete. It may be one of the first stories to include the Ice Queen, written in 2005! Daphne.
The first narrative follows Daphne as she gives a eulogy for Harry Potter and confesses to being his girlfriend. In the sequel, we learn alot about their connection and their peers’ reactions.
5.TheEndless7’s The Pureblood Princess is ranked number five.
The Pureblood Princess is written in first-person and follows Daphne through her sixth year at Hogwarts, where she meets Harry and begins to fall in love with him. The mood is mainly informal and comfortable. The Slytherin house is depicted as a group of average teens rather than junior politicians, or Death Eaters-in-training is always a positive.
6.The Unreal Insomniac’s The Reluctant Champion
Harry’s canon portrayal is thrown out the window in The Reluctant Champion; as a result of being reared by James and the Marauders, he’s more arrogant, reckless, and yes, a prat. Similarly, this Daphne lacks the fanon Ice Queen characterization, which could be a blessing or a curse depending on if you prefer her that way.
7.Phoenix Dawn’s “Dancing in the Green.”
It may seem unfair to include a one-shot, but we’re not exactly spoiled for choice when it comes to comprehensive Harry/Daphne fanfics. Dancing in the Green, on the other hand, comes in at a reasonable 35k words, describing Harry going to the Yule Ball with Daphne and following him throughout the rest of the Triwizard Tournament.
8. James Spookie the Legacy Preservation Act
It hinges on the titular “Legacy Preservation Act,” which effectively forces marriages between select pureblood lines—and thus, Harry and Daphne end themselves together. Because of the forced nature of the situation, there is a lot of friction and drama between them.
9. Andrius’ Ice Cream (number 9)
Ice Cream is a hilarious spin on the standard Ice Queen cliché, with Harry being a naïve youngster and Daphne being socially incompetent. They still treasure troves of manners to get unruffled. There isn’t much content here, but if you like fluff, you’ll enjoy it.
10. TheBlack’sResurgence’s Honor Thy Blood
While the prose is a little clumsy, those who appreciate reading about Harry Potter growing more assertive and coming into his power—with a bit of help from Daphne—should enjoy Honor Thy Blood.
